Position Purpose:
Provide students with a successful and rewarding experience that fosters leadership, self-
discipline and encourages the highest standards of conduct, and academic achievement.
Essential Job Functions:
? Demonstrate professional knowledge of competition rules and strategies
? Demonstrate effective methodology in teaching basic skills
? Demonstrate ability to organize the team for optimum effectiveness during practices
and matches/competitions
? Demonstrate knowledge of and compliance with school and NMAA policies,
procedures, requirements and regulations of the school program
? Demonstrate the highest standards of ethical conduct, decorum and sportsmanship
at all times
? Demonstrate ability to motivate students to achieve in academics AND activities
? Demonstrate professional knowledge of safe practices
? Demonstrate ability to establish and maintain positive and effective communication
and interpersonal relationships with students, staff, administration, parents,
community and media
? Demonstrate effective supervisory skills and procedures to ensure a safe
environment for student participants.
? Demonstrate accountability for care of facilities, keys, equipment and supplies
? Demonstrate interest in self-improvement by engaging in on-going professional
growth activities
