Job Title: Mentor Coordinator and Elementary Instructional Coach


District: Socorro Consolidated Schools


Reports To: Assistant Superintendent


Job Summary:
The Instructional Coach is a teacher leader who works collaboratively with teachers to improve
instructional practices and enhance student learning outcomes across the K-12 spectrum. The
Instructional Coach provides job-embedded professional development, coaching, and support to
teachers, focusing on evidence-based instructional strategies, data analysis, and the
implementation of district initiatives, including the Board adopted goals and guardrails.


Essential Functions:
ELEMENTARY INSTRUCTIONAL COACH

  1. the implementation of research-based instructional practices and strategies 
  2. the effective use of technology to enhance instruction and student learning.
  3. the development and implementation of formative and summative assessments.
  4. differentiating instruction to meet the diverse needs of all learners.
  1. Classroom Management
  2. Elevate NM evaluation system and the 4 teaching domains
  3. Curriculum logins and logistic tools
  4. Lesson planning basics
  1. Ongoing regular meetings with formal documentation in mentor logs
  2. Observation & feedback cycles
  3. Classroom co-teaching & modeling
  1. NMPED required training
  2. teacher enrollment, onboarding, support, and monitoring
  3. stipend arrangements
  4. materials orders
