We want vibrant individuals who are interested in working on a part-time, temporary basis with our students as a substitute teacher.
Substitute teachers must hold a current NMPED Substitute Teacher License or Teacher License. Information regarding this license may be obtained at the NMPED Licensure website. You will not be allowed to sub without a current teacher or substitute teacher license.
Substitutes are encouraged to complete NMPED's Substitute Training https://nmped.catalog.instructure.com/courses/foundations-in-substitute-teaching-practices#:~:text=Full%20course%20description,earn%20a%20certificate%20of%20completion." target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow and submit the certificate of completion to the Personnel Office.

The following requirements must be fulfilled prior to working as a substitute teacher for Socorro Schools:
Be at least 18 years of age (21 years of age to substitute at the high school level)
